The Charleston Gazette misspelled the middle name. The Charleston Daily Mail correctly spelled it Phillip that afternoon.
I had always believed William’s full name was William Phillip Sheraton Craigo.
I am not sure where I picked up the name Sheraton from, but I am beginning to wonder if Sheraton was a part of his name.
