CARLISLE, Pa. - A Kanawha County man was killed Friday in a
two-vehicle accident on a Pennsylvania Turnpike exit ramp.
William E. Craigo Jr., 75, of Cross Lanes died as a result of injuries
from the 9:30 a.m. accident, according to a news release from the
Cumberland County, Pa., coroner's office.
Craigo had stopped at the bottom of the exit ramp and apparently tried
to make a U-turn when his car was broadsided by a pickup truck,
according to the release.
The driver of the pickup, Scott Swank, 28, of Shermansdale, Pa., was
treated for minor injuries at Carlisle Hospital.
An investigation is continuing.

William E. Craigo Jr., 75, of Cross Lanes died Sept. 20, 1996, of
injuries received in an automobile accident near Carlisle, Pa., an
officer with the Middlesex Township (Pa.) Police Department said.
He was a lifelong resident of Kanawha County, a retired vice president
of operations for Ashland Coal Inc., a retired sales representative
for Hercules Powder Co., a member of Cross Lanes Bible Church, and an
Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving: wife, Emmogene Craigo; daughter, Pat Goodell of Cross
Lanes; son, Doug Craigo of Cross Lanes; three grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cross Lanes Bible Church,
Cross Lanes, with the Rev. Dan Berger officiating. Entombment will
follow in Legacy Memorial Gardens, Tyler Mountain. Friends may call
from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Legacy Memorial Funeral home, Tyler
Mountain. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial
contributions be made to Cross Lanes Bible Church expansion fund,
Cross Lanes, or Union Mission, Charleston, W.Va.
