Gerald L. Higginbotham
Gerald L. Higginbotham, 68, of Hurricane died Feb. 12, 2002, at home, after a
short illness.
He was a 33 year resident of Hurricane and a former resident of Dunbar and St.
Albans.
He was a former truck driver for Continental Can Corporation/ Sonoco Fibre Drum,
Culloden, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist
Church, Teays Valley. He was a retired member of United Steelworkers of America,
Local 6888 and he served in the United States Army and Marines.
Mr. Higginbotham was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Lynn Higginbotham
and his parents, Basil and Delma Higginbotham.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Crago Higginbotham; daughter and son-in-law,
Lisa and Ralph Langley of Hurricane, son and daughter-in-law, David and Leslie
Higginbotham of Hurricane; three sisters, Jacqueline Craigo of Dunbar, Janet
Wilson of Oak Island, N.C., Betty Bradley of Naperville, Ill; one brother,
Robert G. Higginbotham of St. Albans; five grandchildren; and a host of good
friends and neighbors.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, St.
Albans with the Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham
Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans is in charge of arrangements.
