Estel E. Wandling
Estel E. Wandling, 86, of Eleanor died Aug. 20, 1999, at home after
a long illness.
He was retired from Monsanto Co. with 37 years' service, was a
lifelong resident of Putnam County, a Navy veteran of World War II and
a member and elder of Eleanor Presbyterian Church. He was a member of
Eleanor VFW Post 4400, American Legion Post 0200, Charleston, Junior
O.U.A. Mechanics, St. Albans, and Eleanor Lions Club.
Surviving: daughters, Colleen Schroter of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.,
Carolyn Sue Orth of Royal Oak, Mich., Pamela Malozi of New Bern, N.C.,
Kay Burke of Culpepper, Va., Rosemary Meadows of Mount Vernon, Ohio;
sons, Larry of Hurricane, Ken of Lynchburg, Va., Reggie of Highland
Village, Texas, David of Scott Depot; brothers. Sherley Wandling of
Hurricane, Herbert Wandling of St. Albans; 18 grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. today at Red House United Brethern Independent
Church, Red House, with the Rev. Frank McCraven officiating. Burial
will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Eleanor. Military graveside rites
will be conducted by Eleanor VFW Post 4400. Memorial contributions may
be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1143 Dunbar Ave. Dunbar, WV 25064,
Seniors Citizens Center of Hometown, or to Presbyterian Church of
Eleanor. Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, is in charge of arrangements.
