Deborah Anne Johnson
Deborah Anne Johnson, 55, a lifelong resident of Dunbar, went
peacefully to be in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Feb. 11,
2008, after an extended illness.
Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Johnson, and her two
children, Matthew Johnson and Sara Baire. She will be missed by her three
grandchildren, Brett Johnson, Brianna Baire and Aliyah Baire; as well as
her sister, Sherrie Blair; and brother, Eddie Spencer.
Debbie's life will be remembered with a legacy of unselfish devotion to her
family. The godly influence of sacrifice Debbie exhibited every day as a wife,
mother, daughter, granddaughter, grandmother, aunt and sister has been etched on
their hearts forever. Her greatest joys in life came from helping her family and
friends. Despite her personal struggle with cancer, she never missed an
opportunity to help others. Her genuine faith never wavered.
Debbie made a career of putting others ahead of herself. Her life was a witness
through action. Throughout the years of her struggle, she remained positive and
reminded everyone, "God has a reason for everything." She was always quick to
offer concerned family members some of her faith if they didn't feel they had
enough to bear the latest news concerning her illness. She made a quick point to
spend quiet time with the Lord everyday, reading her Bible. Debbie Johnson
had a close and personal relationship with Jesus.
A celebration of her life and homecoming will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb.
13, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Tom Moore officiating. Burial
will follow in Grandview
Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
